Water pooling under your AC is one of those problems that looks worse than it usually is — and sometimes it's exactly as bad as it looks. The trick is knowing which situation you're in.
Why This Happens – لماذا يحدث هذا؟
Your AC pulls moisture out of the air. That water travels out through a small drain pipe. When something blocks that path, the water has nowhere to go but into your room.

Dust and debris build up inside the drain pipe over months. In Riyadh, dust is basically a permanent guest in every AC, so this happens faster here than elsewhere.

A clogged filter restricts airflow over the coil. The coil gets too cold, ice forms, and when it melts, it melts faster than the drain pan can handle.

Split AC indoor units need a slight tilt toward the drain outlet. If installed level or angled wrong, water pools inside instead of draining out.
Low Refrigerant – نقص غاز التبريد
Less refrigerant means lower pressure, which can freeze the coil — same result as a dirty filter.

- Turn off the unit if the leak is inside and getting worse – أطفئ الوحدة إذا كان التسرب بالداخل ويزداد سوءاً
- Check and clean the filter — this alone fixes many leak complaints – افحص ونظّف الفلتر — هذا وحده يحل الكثير من الشكاوى
- Look at the outdoor drain pipe for blockage (yes, even bird's nests happen) – افحص أنبوب التصريف الخارجي بحثاً عن انسداد
- Try Dry mode for a few hours if humidity seems the cause – جرّب وضع Dry لبضع ساعات إذا كانت الرطوبة هي السبب
When You Need a Technician – متى تحتاج فنياً
If the leak keeps returning after cleaning the filter, or the unit isn't cooling properly alongside the leak, that's your sign. A blocked drain line usually needs proper vacuum-suction clearing — and low refrigerant needs a professional gas refill, not a DIY fix.
